The Streaming Platform to Bring a Far Cry TV Series from the Minds of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The newest Far Cry instalment that players experienced was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for celebrating action and mayhem with similar glee, all while presenting engaging, socially charged tales. No wonder then that the network’s new order for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two producers whose work have exemplified all of those things.

Show Details

Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game franchise, the limited anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' format by having a new location and ensemble in every instalment.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as showrunners on the series through their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed outstanding partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our collaborators at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this popular property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we do not know what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new long-term contract with the creator.

“Getting to work with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly supportive, placing faith in us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX team continues to lift me up with their constant trust and support.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an standalone show. Every title is a variation of a concept, the same way each season of Fargo is a version on a story,” explained Hawley. “To create a big action show that can evolve from year to year, while always exploring the essence of society through this multifaceted and turbulent perspective, is a long-held aspiration. I’m eager to partner with Rob and bring our common irreverent, visionary approach to the screen.”

A schedule for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
