Extraordinary striker Erling Haaland secures an opportunity in his initial international competition in the upcoming season, thanks to his efforts with Norway to the World Cup.
And the 25-year-old Premier League striker did it in outstanding performance, registering 16 goals in eight World Cup qualifiers - scoring in every match in each of those matches.
This positions him as the top scorer in 2026 World Cup preliminary stage in any continent.
And his country's 4-1 win against Italy on Sunday, with Haaland netting two goals, means they will be competing in next summer's World Cup in the American continent.
The striker commented afterwards: "I'm delighted, but mostly relieved. There's a lot of pressure and things, and I feel it. But it's exciting."
This represents just their fourth World Cup, and their first major tournament since the 2000 Euros.
Haaland's goalscoring record for Norway is nothing short of phenomenal.
He has scored 55 goals in 48 matches for the national team.
And in fact he is just the sixth footballer ever, and the first in 53 years, to net 50 strikes in less than 50 appearances.
The team's earlier top scorer was Jorgen Juve with 33 goals, who held that record for almost a century.
During these qualifying matches he registered 16 finishes - in eight games - plus two goal contributions.
That is double the goal count any competitor has registered in European qualifying.
He remains the highest scorer in these qualifying matches in all continents, including ones where teams play twice the number of encounters.
Beyond a full year has gone by since Haaland previously didn't score in a match for his country.
However, it's not just a one-man show.
Captain Martin Odegaard, 26, has greater goal contributions than anyone else in European preliminary matches - seven assists.
The Arsenal midfielder has made 67 appearances for Norway since his first appearance at the age of 15.
"Combine Haaland's success with the truth that in this generation we additionally possess Martin Odegaard," said a Norwegian journalist.
